Annie’s struggle with her own skin led her to a career in esthetics. Before joining our team, she spent five years at Duke Aesthetic Center, where she became a certified acne specialist and skilled laser technician. Continuing education is a priority for Annie, so she can create custom treatment plans and skin-care regimens using the latest techniques available.
Annie meets with each patient for a comprehensive skincare consultation to assess and discuss their skin’s condition, goals, and needs. She will develop a customized treatment plan and skincare regimen, taking into account patients’ lifestyle, medication, and sun exposure.
Annie meets with each patient to learn their individual skin care needs. Each consult starts with a medical history detailing all past acne treatments, modalities, and any medications used to alleviate breakouts. She educates patients by discussing lifestyle choices, medications, and ingredients that contribute to breakouts. Sensitivity testing with our active products will be performed in-office to be sure there are no allergies or sensitivities before starting the at-home portion of the program. Patients leave with a detailed at-home care regimen tailored to severity of acne, acne type, and skin tolerance. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to adjust home care and/or do an acne treatment in the office.
Patients meet with Annie to adjust their at-home regimen and check in before doing a customized acne treatment. This professional-strength treatment helps heal existing acne lesions. At each treatment, she will cleanse, tone, use a chemical or enzyme exfoliant, and perform extractions. These treatments allow her to treat existing acne without the use of harsh medications. Unlike a lot of temporary fixes, this will help maintain a long-term solution to breakouts.
Breakouts are not limited to the face. Neither are our treatments. This deep-cleansing treatment can be done on the back, shoulders, or chest. Each treatment includes extractions and a chemical peel or enzyme treatment to address breakouts.
All of Annie’s facials feature the beauty and relaxation of a spa facial with the technical precision of an advanced skin care procedure. After a detailed skin analysis, each facial is tailored to the client’s skin needs and skin type. The goal is to leave with skin that looks and feels healthy. Each facial includes a gentle cleanse, a manual exfoliation, and extractions if needed. Each session ends with a mask of Annie’s choice and a hand and arm massage.
Dermaplaning is a treatment performed by carefully exfoliating the outermost layer of the skin with a sterile blade. This process removes dead skin as well as the soft light-colored vellus hairs of the upper lip, cheeks, and sides of the face. This service can be added to a facial or followed by a mild chemical exfoliation.
Chemical peels provide a mild chemical exfoliation. The high acidity dissolves and eradicates dead skin cells leaving the skin with a beautiful glow. Chemical peels are safe for all skin types and require little-to-no downtime. A consultation is required prior to the chemical peel to ensure the appropriate peel is selected based upon the condition a patient is looking to treat. Results are best when done in a series.
Medical needling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face as well as scarring on the face and body. The treatment involves using micro-needles on a medical grade roller to create tiny, evenly spaced puncture wounds on the surface of the skin. This process stimulates our body’s natural collagen and elastin production by triggering a wound healing response. A consultation is required prior to booking a treatment.
This provides a full spectrum of treatment options for patients wanting correction of uneven pigmentation from sun damage, freckles, broken capillaries, and rosacea. Each photofacial will emit a pulse of light that is delivered through a cool hand piece. The light is absorbed by the hyper pigmented lesions and the blood in the broken vessels and it is converted to heat. Due to the many wavelengths in each pulsed light, pigment can be destroyed without using excessive amounts of heat.
Optimized light technology is used for permanent hair reduction on all skin types. The large spot size of the laser hand piece can quickly cover larger areas such as the back, legs, and chest as well as smaller, more concentrated areas. It beams highly concentrated light into the follicles. The pigment in the follicle absorbs the light and that reduces hair. Since the treatment only targets hair in the active phase of growth, multiple sessions are required to achieve long-term results.
When the skin has been stretched too far or too fast, unsightly lines can appear. This is often seen during puberty, after a delivery, or with weight fluctuation. The fractional laser technology uses pulses of laser light to target and break down stretch marks, triggering new tissue production underneath the skin. This new collagen will help improve both the texture and color of the stretch marks. A series of treatment are required for optimal results.
Scars can occur from minor injuries to the skin to major surgical procedures such as abdominal surgeries or cesarean sections. Laser scar treatment is a great option to reduce the appearance of these unwanted scars. The fractional laser technology uses pulses of laser light to break down the scar tissue and help generate healthy new skin with an overall improvement in the tone and texture of the scar. Multiple treatments will be needed to get the best results.
Skin rejuvenation is a nonsurgical laser treatment that can improve your skin’s appearance by clearing many undesirable skin imperfections on your face and body. A fractional laser can address the appearance of brown spots, sun damage, vessels, and fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your clearer skin looking healthy and refreshed. Treatment plans are individualized based on condition and severity and will need to be coupled with an at home skin regimen.
