These are unprecedented and difficult times in our community. As a medical practice providing care that often should not be delayed, we are forced to make some tough decisions that we believe are in the best interest of our patients, staff and providers to limit exposure and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Effective May 24, 2021

We continue to limit patient appointments to only the patient; no visitors and no children may accompany you into our office. This means only the patient can come to an appointment.

As a healthcare facility and in accordance with current CDC guidelines, we are requiring you to come to your appointment wearing a mask.

Obstetrical/Pregnant Patients:  Patients will be allowed to bring one support person to accompany them to any scheduled ultrasound visit.  The support person must wear a mask and after the ultrasound is complete, the support person will be asked to leave prior to seeing the physician.

We will continue to screen patients in the main lobby of the building and ensure patients are following our current guidelines. Thank you for your continued support of Physicians for Women and understanding during these unprecedented times in our community.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information for Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Patients

With the FDA approvals of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, we know many of our pregnant and breastfeeding patients will have questions regarding receiving these vaccines. We hope that conversations with a provider and reading the linked materials may provide some helpful information. The Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine (society of high risk OB docs) and ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) have both released statements saying the vaccine should NOT be withheld from pregnant and breastfeeding patients who would otherwise be eligible to receive it. We are in agreement with these organizations. We very much understand the risks of COVID in pregnancy, yet we are sensitive to the fact that pregnant and breastfeeding patients were not included in the initial studies. We want to emphasize that receiving these vaccines is a personal decision, one that should take into account an individual’s risk of acquiring the infection based on underlying health conditions, occupation, and lifestyle factors, in addition to their pregnancy/breastfeeding status.
